Student Recognition
Hannah Theriault's invention of a lighted dog collar won 1st place for the 6th grade division at the Southwest Florida Regional Inventor's Fair Awards in Fort Myers. The fair included entries from students in Lee, Collier and Charlotte counties. Hannah also won 1st place for the entire Middle School Division against 6, 7, & 8th graders. To top it off, she received best in the Inventor's Fair and received a $4,000 Scholarship from the Community Foundation of Southwest Florida. Way to go Hannah!
Delanie Kirwan's science experiment on "Does the use of a dispersant (detergent) on a refined fuel oil product in seawater impact the effectiveness of a common sorbent?" (Melt blown Polypropylene Pad), placed second in the Middle School Environmental Sciences Division of the Southwest Florida Science Fair. The fair included entries from students from Lee, Charlotte and Collier counties. The division consisted of 6th, 7th & 8th graders.
